The purpose of this International Conference is to discuss Peace and Security issues in the Middle East and Caucasus. After the Cold War period, these two regions have seen the eruption of severe ethnic, religious and political crises. Our aim is to create a forum for researchers, scholars and statesmen to exchange their findings, review knowledge and understanding each other. This conference intends to focus on how the regional forces can be motivated to work together for the restoration of peace and security. An assessment of the general political, economical, and military environment of the Middle East and the Caucasus will be a central part of this discussion. Additional aspects for consideration will include: How International Organizations react to these issues and what they have to offer regarding the military aspects of the security and peace-keeping operations, terrorism and energy problems.

The conference aims to be a discussion platform on possible solutions to the problems of security and peace in these regions.

  • You are invited to submit an abstract to be considered for presentation during the “Middle East & Caucasus: Peace and Security Solutions Conference’ which will take place on the 15th and 16th of April 2010, in Istanbul. The broad attendance to this conference by regional states and other key international participants demonstrates its global feature. Thereby, we kindly ask you to seize this opportunity to shape the program by sharing your knowledge and expertise with other professionals from around the globe.

  • The conference aims to unite outstanding representatives of governmental institutions, parliaments, think tanks and the private sector. We intend to create a platform where the world’s global powers and the local states of the region will interact. In other words, it will be a platform where academicians, statesmen & military practitioners who share an interest in a peaceful and stable Gulf will get together. Expanding the academic literature regarding the military and political dimensions of the Middle East and Caucasus and particularly the role of the global powers in it, is one of the primary purposes of the conference. This is an interdisciplinary conference.
